So the other day, I put up an away message, took a short nap, and got up to use my computer. It was "off". There was ONE light on--this signified that the AC power was plugged in...which it was, but when I hit the power button, the light would go out, and nothing would happen. I couldn't restart, I couldn't do anything. I opened the entire thing up, and I don't see any visible damage anywhere. I couldn't get it to come on with the battery either, nor with the battery removed. It's a Sager NP6120, SISM650 motherboard, P4 2.4 512 ram. I'm sort of stuck as to what it could be. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

Had the lid been closed on it while you took a nap?
I worked on one laptop that wouldn't start & it was because the little hinge switch was stuck down.
(computer thought the lid was closed all the time)

Since you opened it up, maybe you can reset the bios.
Do laptops have a button cell battery that you can take out for a few minutes?

The lid was open, stopped closing it after the cable inside busted and it needed to be resoldered. I'l try restting the bios when i get home there's a battery too, at least i think i remember seeing one, so i'll try that too. Wish me luck.

I had a machine do that, but it was because a small part of the motherboard had broken off somehow. It took 10 minutes of inspecting the board to find the broken part.

Can you hit the power switch without hitting the switch (I.e. with it open and apart is there a switch that your button presses on that you can press manually?)
