I was thinking about posting there, but this forum seemed more appropriate being that I was looking for computer help and not just general networking questions.

What kind of wireless router do you have? Have you tried resetting the router?

Sometimes people inadertantly turn wi-fi off by the external slide swith. My Thinkpads have that plus a Fn+5 key switch. Both have to be ON or no wi-fi.
