is there any way to expand it (video memory seeing as how i only have 32mb) in my Toshiba Satellite, or am i just screwed in that department?

Which model Satellite are you using? I'm using the S503 and I haven't been interested in upgrading the RAM. However, your post got me thinking. So I started to dig here and I found some stuff on some branded memory. Good luck!

Very few laptops have expandable graphics past what is already installed. The exception I know of is Voodoo and Dell Inspirons. I don't think your Toshiba has the option... but what model is it?

The reason most lack tha ability to upgrade is becasue the card is permannet on the board. If you know how to de-solder and re-solder you may be in luck but you'll need to figure out compatibility.

Yeah, as others have said you can upgrade the video on some laptops. But most you can not. Check with Toshibe to see if its an option. Usually you are just stuck with whatever they come with. But on a few models you can upgrade.
