Laptop upgrades

I just got a hold of an older laptop and I was wondering if it could be upgraded. It is a HP OmniBook 3000. I know that it has a Pentium 200 and has 16MB onboard and a stick of 16MB for a total of 32MB of memory. This is my first time upgrading a laptop so please help me out as much as possible.
These are the questions that I have;
Is there anyway that the processor can be upgraded (possibly to a faster pentium or maybe an AMD processor)?
If so do I need a cpu specificly for laptops or will any cpu do?
Are laptop cpus hardwired onto the motherboard or are they easily replacable?
To upgrade the memory will any SODIMM memory do or is there a specific type that I have to have?
How much memory can I add? (The manual says "Two slots for RAM expansion up to 128MB" does that mean 2 sticks of 128MB or does it mean two sticks of 64MB for a total of 128MB)
Would it be OK if I stuck a stick of say 256MB in, because I might want to use it for a future laptop, or will it just not work at all?

Thanks ahead of time

Also if anyone knows where I can get cheap replacement parts for this laptop that would be great. The hook right above the screen that is used to latch the laptop closed is busted along with the covers for the hinges for the screen.

For the memory, go to crucial.com and use their memory selector. It will only show what will work with your laptop, very simple.

It depends on the laptop for the processor. Good luck getting much more though, it appears the max is 233 from laptops on ebay.

Intel did have a mobile Pentium MMX 266 but its pretty rare.

Nothing much can make a Pentium lappy "fast" these days, better to save up for a new one

I recieved this laptop for free and I would really like to upgrade it to make it as fast as I can. Does anyone have any idea about the memory for this computer?
