Laptop to Printer

I have a friend who wants to connect to his printer from his laptop but doesn't want any cords to worry about. He was curious which would be better to use...Bluetooth or Wi-fi? He has wi-fi built into his laptop. He doesn't have HSI at home only dial-up so he doesn't have a network set up. He wants the the best solution and the most secure but with the least amount of parts. Thank you for your help.

Wifi. Even Bluetooth 2.0 is too slow for printing anything more complex than plain text in a generic font.

Get a Wifi print server and work from there. Many on the market.

With the wi-fi printer sever can you connect to that with just the laptop or do you need a wireless router of some type?
