My girlfriend is looking for a laptop for college. I am getting a Dell Inspiron 6000d but she thinks that that will be to big. She needs something smaller, but it still needs dedicated graphics capable of running her game Sims2 and later down the road newer games. Any ideas. She would like to get something around Sony-S size, but I think they are all not powerful enough. She also doesnt want to have to pay 2k for it either.

Integrated GPU's are not good for gaming and do hinder general system performance. Regardless, unless your gf wants to play games, don't worry about it.
Check out the HP dv1000's. Well built, cost effective, good quality, and w/12-cell batt get 6-7 hours of batt life.

I would check out the 700m depending on her GPU needs.

I just got my new 6000 yesterday... it's great! Enjoy your new toy 🙂
