Laptop suddenly stops charging. Converter light blinks Please Help!!

I was using my laptop just a few minutes ago, plugged in to the wall to charge the battery. Suddenly, the charging light went off and now the laptop is running off the battery. The wall outlet is hot and I did not touch anything that should have made it stop randomly charging. I have tried different outlets, tried taking out the battery and putting it back in, all to no avail. The converter on the power cord blinks when it is plugged into the laptop. Does that mean anything? please help I only have 24% battery power left....
 
Looks like your converter is toast. Probably took a power surge and protected your laptop by taking the hit. Recommend you get a replacement. bad luck🙁
