Laptop Stolen

Dammit, my brother had his laptop stolen yesterday at his frat house during a party. He told me his door was most likely locked but if someone really wanted to get in, it wouldn't be a problem. This just pisses me off, as someone stole my wallet just a week ago and I got this laptop for my brother just at the beginning of the school year. Why do people have to steal....There's pretty much nothing he can do correct?

if he had a dialup account installed on it, there's a good chance the thief may try to dial up using it. I dunno how this will help you, but try talking to the isp, maybe they can check their logs.

Definately call the manufacturer and report the serial number as stolen in case it ever comes in for warrenty service, notify the local police station and perhaps pawn shops so they can watch for it, also maybe watch the local newspapers classified ads for one that matches the specs. Hope it was insured 🙁
