Laptop sensors and monitoring

I downloaded MBM5 to check the temps of my thinkpads. I have only put it on one so far, and it does not seem to like the TP. It does not seem to see the cpu temp. I also put on speedfan, and it does not see the temps nor the speeds of the fans. Is this the wrong prog? Is there one specifically for laptops?
