Laptop screen resolution question

I'm helping a friend pick out a laptop, and she was wanting to get a bigger than normal screen so that the text would be larger. Since the resolution changes as well, I don't think text or image size will differ very much between the two sizes.

Does anyone know which model, if any, would have bigger text ?

15.4 inch 1280 x 800

17.0 inch 1440 x 900

Are there any important reasons to go for the 17 ? She is just doing basic surfing, emailing, etc. She can save $200 going with the smaller screen.

Those resolutions wont show much difference since they are proportioned. What "text" is she worried about? In the browser, Open Office etc. she can always use zoom setting to expand text. Personally I think laptop screens suck and would buy the smaller screen and then use the &200 savings for 19-22 " monitor to hook lappy up to. Plus taking a 17" lappy mobile really sucks after awhile
