Laptop screen problem

Hello,

I have a problem with my laptop's screen. The colors seem washed-out. I am pretty sure that the problem lies in the LCD screen but I would like your opinion.
1)I tried connecting an external monitor with both VGA and HDMI and the external monitor works fine
2)I replaced the lcd cable but the problem remains

I uploaded 2 photos from the screen http://imgur.com/a/3MZWF

When they start getting a little pinkish tint, and colors look washed out, the LCD is about done. Time for a new one..

You may be approaching the time to swap out your CFL backlight tube. What model and vintage is your lappy?

Also, I am moving this thread to the Notebook Forum.

Last question - what OS? Since it displays correctly externally, it would appear to be a laptop only problem, and that leads to what Burpo said. But, it wouldn't hurt to check the drivers.

My laptop is Dell Precision M4600 with graphics card nvidia Quadro 1000m.and CPU Core i7
I was watching a movie on the laptop and suddenly i noticed something wrong my screen got pixel termites fuzzy flickering pattern changing dead looking pixels every where.i restarted the laptop several times with no change then i noticed that when i start the laptop from cold state the problem appears and after 5 or 10 min i close the lid and open it again the problem disappears.i tried it 3 times till now.can anyone explaining what`s the problem?
thanks in advance.

Can you hook up an external monitor? If an external monitor also has the same problem the issue is with the video card. If the external monitor looks fine the issue is with the laptop's display or connections to the display.
