because laptop drives use a different power rating i am curious.
i have a brand new TravelStar 100gig 7200rpm Sata drive.
all the connectors look the same as a desktop drive but i dont want to plug it in if the power off a desktop psu is going to instantly fry the drive.
the drive will only draw the power it needs but that initial hit or future hits when powering on the desktop i fear may just blow my new drive.
alternately i have a USB 2 Sata enclosure that may work
what do you guys think.
and lastly i may just end up saving this bad boy for my xbox360 when they find a way to implement larger drives in the 360..
