Hi, Im new to the forums and had a quick question, I have been looking around online for laptops and was wondering if anybody could help me out with this question. I know its sorta farfetched but I would like to find out before I purchase a laptop
~For laptops with lower mb graphics cards (i.e 16 and 32) is there a USB or plug in "graphics card" that would enable it so you can run like a 64 or 128mb card?

My friend says that there are, I don't really believe him (he did state that Celeron is a better proccessor than a P4 w/HT tech) So I was just wondering if this could be clarified, and if by any chance there is would you drop a link. I don't need the laptop for high end gamming (thats why i have the pc) but I just want a laptop to run like WCIII and CS 1.6 or something along those lines.
Thank you very much

CS 1.6 doesn't require a lot. 512 MB of ram and a 128 mb card will ensure quality.

as for USB graphics cards, i can't say i have ever heard of an external one for laptops.

And if they do exist, I doubt the pricetag on them will be what we call 'budget'.

You might consider just buying an internal card or a different laptop.

btw...your friend is right in some aspects.

I have never heard of such a thing, and I'm pretty sure that it would be quite impossible. Besides, Intel's GMA900 integrated graphics will run both of those games just fine, so don't worry about finding a laptop with a discrete video card if that's all you want to be able to do with it.

No, no USB graphics cards at all. There was an external PCI-E graphics card add-on thru the PCMCIA slot, but it is uber-expensive and not what you want. Cheaper to buy a new laptop :p
