Laptop Recommendation

Hi,

I'm looking for a laptop recommendation to replace my 4-year-old budget laptop. I don't do any gaming, and the most graphic intensive thing will be watching HD movies. Here's what I'm looking for:

1) 15-15.6" high quality 1080p matte monitor - would prefer IPS, but not required

2) Reputable vendor with decent support (I was looking at Sager until this qualified them out)

3) Decent appearance - Thinkpads are a no go

3) SSD - Seems to be pretty difficult to find unless you go for a very high-end one, so I'm
fine installing one myself if the computer allows one to be installed without too
much difficulty

- On this note, I've read that some laptops have their Windows key embedded
within the BIOS, so it's not possible to do a clean OS install without the
manufacturer's bloatware, and I definitely want to avoid that being an issue.

My budget's $1400 including the SSD if I have to buy a separate one. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

Thread moved from OT to this forum, and that's without even seeing the first reply. 🙂 -Admin DrPizza

only a 15.X" laptop?

I'm asking because you can get the Acer V7-482PG-6662 and although you'll get more than you've asked for (the GT 750M GPU), the screen is an excellent IPS one and the laptop generally delivers a very high value for its price.

From a quick Google search, it looks like this thing is only available in Canada. Eh?
