My friend is looking for a laptop and I wanted to help him out...

Here is what he wants:

-Nice 14.1 Screen....15'' prefered
-At least 20GB...30GB preferred
-CDRW is a must..DVD is optional
-No software..or doesn't matter...
-Fast CPU...

He wants to spend a max of $1500

I recommended him a Toshiba laptop, but he showed me an HP that seemed to have better components here

Anyways...He will NOT be Purchasing through that site(RIPOFFs) but I just found the page with both of them for comparison...

Of course...if you find one of these to be good...please put links for good deals....:D

In addition, if you see any better options..feel free to add on...

thanks

Since when do they come with 64MB integrated Mobility configs!!?!!!

IS the P4 a p40m by any chance?

if so..what is the battery life?

That's a really nice deal. Sager's are a good brand, very popular in Asia, so I hear.

It's definitely a desktop replacement more than a portable laptop.

If Sager has the Mobility 7500 3 months ago, I would have gotten that for sure.

As it stand, I bought a Dell.

compaq presario 2800. clearly better than all the other p4 notebooks coming out. 5.7 pounds with dvd rom, 5.4 without it. thats like over 2 pounds less than the dell one (albiet one less drive total, the dell can have 2 cdroms)

Found a Sager SP2280 with great specs at a great price. However, don't know anything about the screen quality - any ideas?

Be careful...some of these cheaper laptops don't use the mobile processors....causing heat problems and power drainage issues.

beware, those generic notebooks use desktop cpu.

if you're in LA, go to Industry's Fry's, they have many notebooks on display, even has Sharp.
for small slim notebook, Sharp's looks even better than Sony's.
