Laptop Question

Good evening everyone, was wondering if anyone heard of a laptop doing its system recovery by itself?

This situation is this, my client bought the laptop(An Ibm Thinkpad A22e) just over a year ago and in the last week (ie week 51) it re-restored itself.

From what the customer told me, last friday they were using the laptop without a problem, then satruday they turned it on and it started the recovery program and re-staged the system, without any user intervention.

Was wondering if anyone heard of a similar problem?

Hmmmm...IBM is advertising new "rapid restore" but I thought that had to be initiated by the user. I'm thinking thats a new feature too, ie, it wouldn't have been on the thinkpads that long ago.

Are you sure the client didn't accidently do it themselves and are just ashamed of their mistake?

That what i was thinking too, but you have to hit a key at boot up to start it, unless the key was stuck (its the f11 key) and it is not close enough to the power button to have been hit accendetly when turning it on
