I'm wondering what kind of CPU I should look for. The laptop itself will not be used for 3d gaming, but merely for an account software. I realize that this needs minimal ram and cpu strength, but what kind of processor should I shoot for? I believe the Pentium M is the way to go, any other suggestions?

Faster cpu and more RAM means a faster computer. I recommend getting as much computer as you can afford.
 
The Dothan "M" 's are shining these days but have you looked at the AMD64 mobile's? Ready for WinXP 64!
