I have a Toshiba laptop that will not power on (boot). The indicators for the AC power and system power (when the on button is pressed) are both solid green but there is no activity (HD). This problem originally started as a lockup problem and having to reboot. This has been getting worse until now it won't turn on. Any suggestions?

might be the motherboard. :( if someone here doesn't have a better suggestion, you may just have to bite the bullet and call tech support, see how much toshiba wants to fix it.

I hope it is not a TECRA 2100 or you will need to send it to Toshiba to replace the main board...g/l

It's a Satalite 1805-S274. I have managed to get it to boot and surf for awhile but it will lock up eventually and I have to disconnect the power and hold down the on button for it to boot back up. It is looking more and more like a CPU problem but I think I should just buy a new Dell and part this one out.

I was running a fresh install of XP Pro (Non Toshiba) so I just tried to use the Toshiba recovery CD and the thing locked up after it was done formating the HD.
