Laptop Power Problem

I have a Compaq Presario R3000. This is only a year and a half old. MobileMeter has the battery wear at 0%. Speedfan and MobileMeter both have the temps at high 30'sC low 40'sC under light load. The problem is that when on battery sometimes (about half the time), I will go from almost fully charged, to my computer just shutting off. It doesn't go into stand by or hibernate. It just shuts off. Could this be something on my mobo shorting out and draining the battery dry????

Look at power options settings in control panel. They are probably set at to high a percentage ?

P. S. - And some of the other parameters are probably set incorrectly.

The power settings in the control panel aren't my primary settings. I am using Rightmark CPU Clock to underclock my cpu when on battery. I can also set my power settings through this program. Before using this program, I would only get about 20 minutes of battery time. Now I can get battery time, except for the occasional "short" or whatever the problem is when my laptop just shuts off and drains the battery.
