laptop - power button issue, doesn't always turn on.

my friend has a DELL Laptop model # PP10L.

the power button completely stopped working and she has to wiggle it around now to power on the laptop.. but sometimes it won't turn on for hours. she just has to keep playing with it randomly until it turns on.

any ideas on how to get it to power up faster that don't include returning or buying a new laptop?

Use contact cleaner.and dont wiggle that no more

As denis280 suggested - try contact cleaner and/or 91% Isoproyl alcohol - don't use lower amount as it is diluted with too much water.

If contact cleaner doesn't work, a little surface-mount soldering is in order. Have fun! 😛

sounds like your problem is not the button, but the connection between the motherboard and the little button board.
