Laptop Network Card Questions

So I've got 3 Network PCMCIA cards for 2 laptops, yet only one of the cards work on either of the laptops on which I've tried them (both w/ XP Professional).

The one that works is the:

Intel Pro/100 Lan PC Card MBLA 1600.

The two that don't work are:
Belkin P80933
3Com EtherLink III Lan+33.6

This is really frustrating. Does anybody have any idea why the Intel is the only one that would work on them?

TIA

By the way, the computer will recognize (but not install) the 3com drivers correctly, while it can't even see the Belkin device at all.

What notebook is it? Maybe the two that don't work are 32-bit CardBus cards and your notebook doesn't support them.

One is a Toshiba Tecra 8100 and the other is a Compaq (not in front of me so I can't remember what model it is - but it's about 2 years old).

I'm such a noob :-(
