Laptop Memory

I have a PII-400 Dell Latitude CS. What kind of sodimms do I need? I stuck in a PC66 SODIMM and it works but I'm wondering if it's possible that the memory is running out of spec. Can sodimms be made to perform out of spec like regular desktop DRAM? for example, can PC100 sodimms be used in 66mhz FSB laptops? can PC66 sodimms be run at 100mhz FSB?

I have a 128m pc66 sodimm from a dell laptop running in my generic laptop which takes pc100 sodimms. What's even weirder is I currently have 192M of ram (128+64), but the manual for the laptop says I should match the RAM (32+32, 64+64, 128+128). I've been running like this for a few weeks and so far no problems.

If I had to guess, I would say your running your pc66 ram at pc100 speeds. If it is good quality ram, I don't see it being a problem. If you start getting GFDs than the ram may be balking at the higher spec.
