Hi,
I recently bought an extra 128 megs of ram for my compaq notebook... At first the computer would keep restarting or giving me errors windows tried to boot... Now it runs windows better each time I boot(doesnt crash as much.. after a few times seems to be ok).. Is there some type of burn in period for some memory?? It is detected fine at startup. Remove the memory and the computer boots up perfectly.. but it seems to be okay now with the extra memory.
Thanks!

well it might be the fact that the memory isn't properly inserted or the contacts need to be cleaned. I'd ask compaq or whatever company to check it for you!

Memory doesnt have a burn in period. It has to be some other factor causing problems.
If you're running Windows XP, it optimises its boot routines over a course of several re-boots if you change your PCs hardware, so things would run better after a few boots.
