Hello everyone,
I'm having some trouble adding more memory to my IBM T20 750mhz laptop... it currently has 128MB but when i added a 256MB stick in, BIOS would recognize it but for some reason Windows 2000 won't start.. Anyone have any idea whats wrong... I would appreciate all the help..
Thank-you

i tried going to safe mode but that didnt help..it just stayed hanging there at the option that lets u pick which operating system to boot to safe mode it wont go any further....it will go to the black screen that shows a progress bar and under it saying "for troubleshooting and startup options press F8 (something like that)..but it wont go to the windows 2k splash screen.i tried putting it into diff slots and the same results, wont boot windows 2k....im really stumped. Bios recognizes but wont boot the OS...I've used the memory in another laptop with similar specs and it runs perfectly with windows 2k, so the memory is not faulty..
thx for the replay, any other suggestions would be helpful..

ok... I looked into ur advice saying not all memory will work on all laptop..well i did some research on the memory, and it looked like that was not compatible with the T20.. Well i guess the fault is on me for not doing research. I thought all memory is "universal" as long as its compatible with the system bus.. anyways i put the memory on another laptop which seems like its working properly..thx for all the replies..
