Laptop memory question

I have a IBM Thinkpad T21 and I want to upgrade the memory. According to the specs it takes 144-pin SODIMM PC-100 memory. The problem is the PC-100 memory is $140 for a 256mb stick compared to the PC-133 memory which is $40. Could the laptop run with the faster memory? I would think so...

Crucial's 256MB for your notebook is $117. Sure you can put a PC-133 in your notebook, it might revert to PC-100 speed.

I know it wouldn't run at pc133 speed but for some reason the pc133 memory is $100 cheaper then the pc100. I will probably chance it and buy two 256mb sticks.

Hi, All menory of a type are created equal. The speed desingation is assigned after testing. 133 will always run as 100 if necessary. Jim
