I have a Asustek computer and the system model is G750JM.
The processor is a Intel Core i7-4700HQ CPU 2.40GHZ 8CPUS with a OC of 3.4GHZ
I want more RAM and this Laptop only has 8192 Ram/memory
Most games require you to have 4, but with so many damn programs running the in the back ground my ram runs short(5gb).

Now I may be wrong ,but with this type of processor my laptop could only handle a total of 16gb of memory/ram. I need suggestions guys. Please.

I game and multitask most of the time.
Multitasking: Gaming, Videos, Chat, VideoChat, CollegeWork, Editing, Modding.

What kind of games are you playing? Typically with the kind of video card in a laptop 5GB of RAM should be plenty.

You could also consider closing background programs when gaming, which is probably a good idea anyway. Maybe you can elaborate on what's running in the background?

What do you want us to suggest? Also, if you're only actually using 5GB I don't see the problem.

Well I play a lot of games
Skyrim + Texture Mods
Crysis 2 + 3
^ really hard to run those on Ultra
Arma Series 2 3
Watch Dogs
Soon Dying Light
I like playing games with extremely beautiful Graphics.
That's about it.

See sometimes When i play games a stupid pop appears and states " Your computer is running low on memory, you must close this program to continue"
Yeah and I don't like dealing with that. It would be nice to just add some ram wouldn't it ?

Your system should support 32GB, according to Crucial memory finder.
Why do you have so many applications running at the same time you want to game?

Well sometimes. I get emails from work or college and I really don't want to close the game because they are just very quick important updates or news. I typically want to stream my games pretty soon since I am upgrading my ISP. I often get calls for video chats with classmates or Professors or family and I simply minimize the game because I know they don't last long(the chats).

Is your virtual memory turned off? Out of HDD space?

You shouldn't get that message unless one of the above is true.

I have 1tb free I doubt it's my storage and about my virtual Memory I doubt it is off or else I wouldn't be able to run the games, but usually when I get that pop up I just Close it and nothing really happens, but it does get annoying and alarming sometimes.

ASUS ROG G750JM

Memory - DDR3L MHz SDRAM, up to 32 G, (8 GB x 4)

You need to verify this is correct and then purchase the amount of memory you need. Crucial provides a System Scanner that you can download that will inform you how many slots that laptop has and the maximum memory the system can recognize.

Maximum memory: 32768MB
Slots: 4 (2 banks of 2)

So that is correct I will be getting the max Memory.
Thank you guys a lot. I wanted to know the slots as well. I was going to open, but this saved me some time. Thank you all.

Now you get to the speed of the memory. From my understanding with what I have read on the forums here, Intel does not really need faster than 1600MHz. The faster memory has higher CL timings and requires more voltage, which will run down your battery faster. While the frequency is faster, the higher CL memory timings require more clock cycles to perform the same work. The higher timings tends to wash out the faster speed, making the more expensive memory not so worthwhile.

But hopefully someone with better Intel specific i7 experience can provide help with this issue.

32 is probably too much ram anyway. Would 12 be enough?(Either way I can turn my laptops performance down to save some battery life right)
