Laptop memory compatability?

We currently have extra memory that we purchased at the office for Compaq Armada 6500 (P2-300) laptops. Here are the memory specs:

Memory Sub-System : System Memory
Module Type : SO-DIMM
Memory Type : SDRAM (Sychronous DRAM)
Configuration (bitsXbits) : 4x64
Fault Tolerance Level : Non-Parity
Access Time (ns) : 10
Number of Contacts : 144
Lead Material : Gold (Au)

We have a consultant coming in with a Compaq Armada M700 (P3-650) laptop and needs a memory boost. Here are the specs for the memory in the M700:

Memory Upgrades
Memory Sub-System : System Memory
Module Type : SO-DIMM
Memory Type : SDRAM (Sychronous DRAM)
Configuration (bitsXbits) : 8x80
Fault Tolerance Level : Non-Parity
Access Time (ns) : 8
Number of Contacts : 144
Lead Material : Gold (Au)

The only difference seems to be the access time. I know that the M700 has a 100mhz bus speed, but what about the 6500? Does 2ms make a large difference? Would the 6500 chip be "overclocked" on the M700 bus?

I know memory is cheap, but these extra DIMMs aren't being put to use.

Any advice would be apprecaited.

Y0, Skaven.
Love your nick man, I used to play GW stuff all the time. Even used to work in one of their retail stores.
Heh, & I played in the staff tournament with a Skaven army - go figure.

😉

Thanks for the info! I guess I'll have to go get some new memory! 🙂

joinT: You know what? I had somebody else tell me that. What is GW again??
Actuall I got my nick from those old demo guys. There was a coder who's nick was Skaven, and I liked it! So I stole it! 🙂
