I have a Dell Inspiron laptop running XP home and using an Orinoco 11b card with a Linksys wired and wireless network in my house. After the laptop is turned on and the network found I get a dialog box saying I'm connected to my network and the signal is excellent. Another dialog box pops us saying I am connected to the internet.
However, in 3 to 5 minutes the internet connection is lost, but the wireless connection says it still excellent. My laptop is not over 30 feet from the Linksys unit.
When I look at network connections in control panel it will show the wireless connection and packets being moved, but there will not longer be the internet connection icon.
I must pop out the wireless card and reinsert to get the internet connection going again.
