Laptop locks up

I have an Asus S5N running XP Pro that locks up when I'm online sometimes. It doesn't matter whether I use Firefox or IE6. One window/tab or more it doesn't matter. The cpu goes to 100% and doesn't back down. Ctrl Alt Del doesn't respond. I either have to yank the battery or hold the power key down to shut it off and reboot.

Any ideas

The laptop is a Napa platform with an Intel mobile processor. Is there a hotfix for that?
