Laptop LCD backlight help?

Ok, i'm assuming the backlight in my laptop is going bad, as my screen is REALLY dark but still quite sharp.

I have found numerous tutorials on how to REPLACE an lcd backlight, but i have yet to find a place that sells them.. Somebody have a store or something somewhere?

Any help is appreciated.
 
I accidently cracked my LCD one time and found a replacement on Ebay of all places. There are people there that buy dead laptops and sell the parts. The same people will offer to install it for you, for a fee of coarse. You can also get new parts there. Compaq wanted $800.00 for a new LCD, I got it on ebay for $150.00
