Laptop Lagtime

I own a one year old Lenovo G510 running windows 10. Similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HIYA9ZM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00 except I added some additional hardware. My problem is with lag. I click on an application, anything really, blue circle comes up for over a minute. Wait for circle icon to stop spinning, click on another application, same thing. They do open btw. Takes 5 mins. just to surf the internet by the time the laptop boots up and I open my browser. Any ideas? I work with computers so whatever you got.

Would suspect HDD starting to fail or some sort of malware infection.

If that shows up clean, you can run a more thorough test:

If the S.M.A.R.T. and Seatools tests come up clean, you may want to scan for malware:

I tried all three suggestions. The two HDD programs passed. The Malware came up clean. The problem is getting worse and my laptop is now unusable. Anything else?

System restore or factory reset. Would probably be the quickest since you have already put a decent amount of time into it.

If you boot off a USB/DVD Live type OS do you have the same problem? that will help you rule out a software issue.
