Hi all, I cant figure out how to get this to work? I have a laptop i take on vacations, mostly Camping i sighned up for free netzero internet and i want to be able to use cell phone to dial netzero to get on internet, my cell phone is a motorola V60 i guess it has bluetooth i never use it, if i could just plug phone in with adapter that would be fine?? any help would be great, thanks I pluged phone into my usb on laptop but when i dial netzero is dials modem in laptop so i think i need a adpter that plugs into phone jacks on laptop?

You can't use a cell phone to analog-dial netzero. Look for a data plan through your cell provider, and research the process called "tethering" for your cell phone to your PC. Try some of the many results available through Google

Thankyou for info, I did do a google on this and found this Link and thought is was as easy as just getting some adapter? I dont want to be paying my cell phone provider extra $ to do this.

As the expression goes, "there is no free lunch" 😛

Who's your cell phone provider?

$29.99/mo - T-Mobile Total Internet data plan. Unlimited EDGE data - about twice dialup speeds (but higher ping). You're unfortunately stuck with HotSpot access as well, I don't think there's a way to unpair them.

no, tmo's internet plan is nationwide. at least it is on my blackberry. i get on average 4x the speed of dialup, but its way unstable. not good at all for streaming anything, it just cant sustain a stream for more then a minute or two no matter how lite.

i used my tmobile nokia 6101 to dial netzero to get into the internet. what i needed was a infrared adapter on my laptop so i can link the phone to the laptop. pretty cool but it is slow. as long you surf the website with a lot of text instead of images, it would be good enough. no need for other accessories.

Cube buddy here at work has the Cingular 825 hooked up to his laptop with USB. It's a G3 data plan, and he gets broadband speeds. This also solves the websense issues at work, because they don't care about him having a laptop on his desk. Yet everyone here (except me and another cube buddy) are blocked with websense. He bought a cheapy E-machines laptop he leaves here at work. Then he brings in the 825 and plugs it in each day.

If your plan is about to expire, switch to Cingular.
