Laptop Insurance?

This is actually kind of interesting..... minimum coverage is $1150 and costs $69.00 a year. Maybe this is cheaper than most extended warranties?

My service center was supposed to become a service center for Safeware, but I have only seen one unit come in under the safeware warranty. From that one unit, it seems like they do a good job of honoring their warranty (someone dropped thier laptop in this one case). I haven't looked into their prices, but I heard they were reasonable and I was told that they are based on the value of the item you are covering. It will take longer to get repaired as opposed to a manufacturer's "no-fault" warranty because you have to fill out an affidavit explaining what happened and then wait for them to approve it (should be 1-2 days for approval). I would say repair should take about 4-5 days longer than average to repair.

I got it for my T40
Covered to $3500 no deductable
for $210 a year covers everything on the machine accidental ,theft etc...
whike at home or traveling in the US and Canada if traveling abroad can purchase
extra coverage.

How is this differs from Extended Warranty or service plans?

Extended Warranties are usually a one shot deal once used after
6 months or a year so on... you would need to repurchase another one.
service plans have to be specifically for accidental coverage and usually the LCD is extra.

I had this warranty on the two laptops that I've had. I never had to use it, but I will purchase it for my current laptop pretty soon.
