I have created an image with Acronis 6.0, the image consists of Windows XP SP1 and Office 2003 etc.. I built this image on a Dimension XPSR 400 and ran sysprep before I uploaded the image. When I download the image onto a laptop it boots up to the Windows XP setup screen without any BSOD but the curser will not move. I checked the BIOS and tried PS2 and USB mouses with no luck?

Did you delete the IDE Controllers and set the Video to Standard VGA before using Sysprep?

If there is any other devices not needed those should be deleted also (i.e. Modem, Network card etc..)

As of Sysprep 1.1 in Win2k and all Syspreps in XP and later, the IDE controller bit isn't necessary - use the -BMSD switch (search in the KB for it) for a way to build disk drivers for all in-box supported controllers.

Standard VGA isn't required either - Sysprep PnPs everything after the box is successfully booted.

If the cursor won't move, does that mean it's waiting for your input at the first Sysprep screen? If you completely automate Sysprep with a completely automated Sysprep.inf, does it complete successfully?
