laptop high-gloss surface LCD

has anyone experienced this before.....?????? it's extremely annoying

would dimmed private-LCD protectors do the trick?

any suggestions besides moving out and away from bright light?

I mean, trying to do something outside and then the sun comes down, then you have to move around and it gets incredibly ridiculous...

LCDs in general do not perform well in sunlight - not even those on digital cameras, You could get a folding black hood such as the e-Clipse 2000 from Hoodman.

All I can suggest is to avoid facing the LCD towards the sun, maybe that will cut down some of the glare. Notebook LCD's w/ the glossy surface do indeed increase glare, but they also add a protective layer to the display...

I have the same problem and it is very annoying ;(

I wish laptop screens could be like CRT monitor screens are in any kind of light!

I don't think it would be a good idea inless your warranty has ended or your laptop is a good 3 years old or more.
