my bros laptop harddrive just died. it makes clicking noises when trying to load. tried hooking it up to an external case to try and take everything off and when we shake it it makes a noise like something is loose inside. are harddrives different than regular harddrives. trying the freezer trick right now like some of you have suggested before but are there any different tricks with laptop drives????
 
I don't think there are any tricks once you reach that stage. About the only thing you can do now is replace the drive with another and then use your laptop's System Restore CD to bring it back to factory new condition.
