I have a sony laptop and want to upgrade the hard drive. Anyone know if the usb drives are fast and what brand should I get?

USB HDDs suck bigtime. They're real slow. Get yourself a regular 2.5" IDE laptop HDD to replace your existing drive. 10 to 32 gigs, Toshiba, Fujitsu, IBM, $100 to $300+, do some google searching. There's a new line of 9.5mm high Toshiba drives that go from 15 to 32 gigs, they're low profile so they'll fit in anything, but most newer notebooks will take 12mm high drives with no problem. Just be careful- if your notebook is older it might not support larger size drives without some 3rd party drive overlay software.
