Laptop for watching hd video/surfing?

I think you can get much better for $500. In general 1366 x 768 is really bad for general surfing as you need t scroll the web page to much. Also you can get an i5 for that money. I'd also get one with dedicated video.

Bump,Really needing some help here from you experts...My desktop is a core i5 2500k sandy bridge,asrock z68 pro m3 mobo,wd1tb black,8gb ddr3 1600,corsair psu,nvidia gtx 550.cooler master case.You really get more bang for your buck out of a desktop i believe.For 500 dollars U.S. i'm finding it hard when it come's to lappys,good video playback with no lag and good sound are at the top of my list.TY

You aren't going to get a 1080p display and an i5-level chip, in a package for under $500.
