My roommate made a good point... They gave out $94,456 worth of rebates. Sounds like a lot, but divide that by $4000. You get 23.6 At most only 23 people got money back from their laptop hmmmmmmm

I am not supporting them, but Pulling random site logs does not mean anything. They could have changed servers or might have redone their site. Here is some more solid evidence.

They are also not registered with the Better Business Bureau which is strange for a corp around since 1999.

I would avoid this site, don't waste your time even thinking about it.

Or how about a DVD player for free?

Free $750 DVD player!!!!

Notice that most of their site is empty, with dead links. This is not only a scam, but it is a lame scam at best. If I were going to do it I would offer a 700 rebate on a $2000 computer, at least make it somewhat believable.

Let's not waste time with these non-deals.

Oh, and those reviews, notice how everyone of them contains the word "great" at least several times, and most mention the CEO. How coincidental is that???? And none of them list their id. I think the scam is on. These guys should get a job!

That $750 dvd player is the Pioneer DV-333 which you can find at cnet for $162. What a joke.

Testomonial's all are so funny. NO REAL NAME NOTHING. I even emailed the CEO to findout how long does it take for the rebate to come. No MENTION OF THAT.

Here's a tip on how to actually try and do something about scam sites like this (I know, it involves actually having people who give a damn anyway for all your work. but ... )

1) PING the domain name
2) record the IP address it gives you
3) go to your web browser and type in the IP address
4) most likely you will get the page of whomever is hosting the piece of trash, since no one is gonna set up a scam on their own webserver
5) notify the people the page ison. I'd think at least a few would be annoyed at the least that it is on there and that people are trying to make money off their webhosting without the host's permission
6) see what happens .

This is my first post on Anand, so a brief bio. I've been in computers for about 18 years since TI's and VIC20. I've been reading Anand forums for a while and figured I might be able to contribute something useful once in a while. I'm relatively knowledgable on hardware and read any review available (sometimes even if its quite weak). I am very appreciative of the forums on this site, I believe in free market, but I just hope once in a while people leave that 10th good deal item behind as they walk out with 9 of em ... for the 'other guy'. Well, thanks for having me ...

This site is hosted by Slcinet.com
That's SLC Internet Services out of Salt Lake City Utah.
Anyone with some spare time wanna try some spam mail to get one of these jerks off the net? The guy's name running it might be Rob something as the FTP log shows. It's probably either and employee or someone they have on record paying for hosting. Could be a hack I suppose, which would make it pretty much impossible to do anything about. The comments on that review website are obviously fake, no question. Perhaps the review site keeps IP logs of some kind, doubtful there too though. If nothing else, SLCInet could possibly track down where traffic to the site is coming and going from by watching ports. I know it's all a longshot (and assumes Slcinet is legit, but it looks like it is), but I for one am quite sick of seeing scamsites pop up especially on these boards and it'd be nice to see it posted in an article somewhere that Anandforums' peops were responsible for taking one of these guys down. ;)

well this store could possibly work if they took all the money they made in a day and put it in a money market account for three months, but i would never trust these people...
