Laptop Floppy Drive Problem.

I have a friend who has a Compaq 🙁 laptop. It was recently infected with the W97M.MARKER.A Virus. The virus has been removed but now when you try to use the floppy drive it just makes noises like it is reading the disk but nothing happens, and says that it can't read the file that you try to open. Is the floppy drive dead? btw the laptop is running Win2k.

Thanks for the great idea Gunbuster! It does boot from a floppy. What should I do next re-install win2k?
