I wouldn't want to play any modern 3D game on Intel Extreme graphics, let alone HL2. If it's Extreme 2 it may work, otherwise I doubt it'll even run.

ummm... it'll work. I'm sure. Just not very well. at all. It'll run halo and wc3 fairly well, but I've got the intel extreme2, and it's not the best out there...

At 10x7, if your laptop has a Mobility 9000 or better, you can probably run HL2. People with Mobility 9600, 9700, and (especially) 9800 will have no issues running HL2 at 10x7.

And if you have a 6800 Go, fuggetaboudit.

i ran hl2 on my friend's laptop today. its an amd64 3000+ w/ 512mb ram and a geforce mx 440 go card. it runs perfectly smooth at 800x600 at medium quality. i was totally suprised, though it looks just a bit better then normal half-life graphics. still, wow. this game runs far better on low end video cards then many think.

yay and nay.
yay, you got lots of memory!
nay, you got the intel extreme crap II graphics like my laptop.

But, Star Wars Galaxies and it's addon Jump to Lightspeed (same engine as Everquest II) runs on my laptop. min settings 1024x it is playable (3-20 fps, kinda pushing it).
It never hurts to install HL2, or spend 700 bucks for the 2.0 ghz dothan, that may help. That reminds me, i gota get that game.
Just found my Half-Life CD from 1998! hehe.
PS, does anyone know where i can download a patch so HL can install in win xp?
Thanks

I got a 1.5 ghz not the dothan cpu. 512 ram and the integrated intel extreme crap II graphics
