Laptop doesn't have video out..

So my new Dell 1545 for whatever reason doesn't have any sort of video-out abilities (other than the monitor output), are there any expresscards out there that can add this capability?

According to the specs, it does have video out. That is what you call monitor out. It will link to a projector as well. Apparently you want something more exotic, but there are not many choices for Express video, S or HDMI.

Basically I just want s-video/composite output somehow..but doesn't seem that's possible. The previous gen of this laptop had it though, can't believe they'd take it out.

They probably took it out because they are legacy ports nowadays. Yes, there are TVs that still use them, and devices, but there are also people that still have floppy drives.

What TV doesn't have S-video 😕

I am sure some high end plasmas and LCDs might not. But more importantly, as time goes on, what TV doesn't have HDMI?

Both would be better, or a way to convert the existing signal to something else, but I think you might be stuck.

true, your laptop has to be able to do tv out for those to work. If not you can use a converter box, monoprice has one for about $30, here.
