I am comparing the Intel C2D T5250 and the AMD TK-55 notebook processors.

2 questions

1) Which is better? By how much?

2) Which one is more energy-efficient?

The intel is a 1.5ghz

TK-55 is 1.8ghz AMDX2

CPU clock per clock wise. the turion might be a tiny bit faster. That Intel chip is the lowest one you can buy for centrino duo 2.

you need to see what GPU option both systems have to get better advice. If your looking for a gaming/multi media lappy either cpu will do okey, however the one with dedicated video card will be faster.

The one with a dedicated videocard may also use more power as well. You cant have cake and eat it too. :T

So the AMD is faster?

I couldn't find a chart comparing the T5250 to the TK-55, but according to Tom's Hardware, the Core Duo T2300 clocked at 1.66Ghz is faster than the TK-55 in PCMark 2005.

Tom's Hardware

Even without the use of charts, I'd say that the T5250 is faster than the TK-55. I'd say that the T5250 is just a mobile version of the desktop Core 2 Duos, since it is called a Core 2 Duo T5250.
