Am looking for a laptop computer (I-7 or faster processor) which has "NO" touchpad, i.e. I am not interested in the ability to turn the touchpad on or off, I just don't want one period - I use old fashion USB connected mouse to maneuver the cursor and keyboard for text input. And no, I don't want or use touchscreens.

Is there currently such an animal being offered ?

Thanks.

No, there isn't.

Then build your own, with a customized machined aluminum case without one.

Even the cheapest, crappiest laptops and chromebooks have touchpads, so good luck finding one prebuilt without it. If your idea was that it'd be "cheaper" without one...you are dreaming, to be frank.

Disabling it from the bios or OS works fine, there is no reason that it is "not a good enough fix" or would still interfere.

Why am I getting the attached notice when I click on the "view thread" link on the notification email that I receive from anandtech ? I can go to the website directly from Firefox just fine, it is only when clicking on the view thread link on the notification emails that I get this warning that can not find server ? I have been able to access via the email link in the past, this problem has just started recently. Thanks.

I suggest asking this question in the forum issues thread(s). I doubt you'll get an answer here.

When I got notice of the above reply, the view thread link worked fine, took me directly to the thread, wonder why it does not work on the first notice ???

It's old, slow, and expensive for what you get, but no touchpad and no touch screen... it has the thinkpad red nubby trackpoint and left/right click buttons still though. As far as I know, all of the newer thinkpads have touchpads
