(as far as I know) open up the laptop, find the cmos battery - a lithium battery shaped like a really thin cylinder - then also find the "clear cmos jumper." Change the position of the jumper to 2-3 instead of 1-2 (or to 1-2 instead of 2-3) and remove the battery. Put the battery back in after 30 seconds, and switch the jumper back to its original position and you are good to go. Thats the standard deal on a desktop, I can't imagine it being different for a laptop, except a little trickier to get into the damn thing 🙂 Good luck
