Laptop charging question

What is the better option for charging a laptop....

Buy a DC power adapter from Lenovo for $120
Buy a power inverter that can also be used for other things.


Any pros/cons to each approach?

so there's no danger of damage to the battery using an inverter? that was my only concern...

i have used inverters with laptops in my car occasionally for about 8 years, never had a problem
