Laptop battery

how old are the batteries? what Toshiba Satellites? same model? dead as in will not hold a charge and unplugging laptop from an outlet/power cord will cause it to turn off instantly? if so, my guess is you always, or nearly all the time left it plugged in with the battery always "charging" while you used it. if you do this, i have been told the battery will loose life regardless of it being lithium ion. best to unplug + use the battery every now and then.

thats a normal time time frame for a laptop battery to be dead. "Lithium-ion battery manufactures believe that a typical life span should be somewhere between 2 to 3 years"

Also note that with some laptops, the original battery is not the maker's best battery for the laptop. I just replaced a struggling 14 month old original with a much higher capacity battery from the same maker.
