Laptop Battery (Li-Ion) - Is it normal to have loose charge after 2 days? (90%)

I have a new toshiba s177 laptop, I charge the battery to 100%, unplug it, turn it off and come back 2 days later and the battery is at 90%...is this normal with Li-Ion batteries? If it is a problem, could it be a problem with the laptop? or is it definetly a problem with the battery? BTW, they are both new.

Definately not, I'd call Toshiba. This isn't that unusual in an old battery, but since the computer is new its a big problem if the computer is off!
 
If both are new it could be a problem. If they are not then it is probably normal. I have a Dell Latitude XPi P133 and it's LI-ION battery almost completely discharges within a week.

Called toshiba and they want me to bring it to a toshiba dealer thats in NYC, over 1 1/2 hours away, I said no way. They said they cant just send me a new battery...anyone have any suggestions? do you think if i talk to a manager I could have them send me a battery?

anyone know how to calibrate the battery? would this fix the problem of charging it fully, (it was dead when i got it, then fully charged it) turn the laptop completely offfor two days, turn it on and it would be at 90%? Thanks
 
Glad to see all of you got HayBrews worried about his battery. I see batteries slowly drain all the time while they are in the laptop. These aren't AT machines where the power button is between the power and the hardware. The computer does have to monitor the buttons to detect when they are depressed. Plus the battery could be supplying a charge to the RTC battery.
 
The battery could never show %100 after booting up because it takes some power just to get the system up far enough to get an indication of power remaining. If the CD-ROM drive is installed and has a disc in it, the drain could be substantial.
 
I think something is wrong there. Sometimes Windows' battery estimate isn't accurate. Can you check the power level somewhere else like in the BIOS?

My Dell Inspiron 4100's battery discharges to 98-99% if left idle for two days.
