Laptop as security camera

In short, I live in a collective and we have a lot of trouble with dirty dishes getting left in the kitchen at 3 AM and food getting stolen on a regular basis. In short we can't be sure of who does this, so we want to use an old laptop as a security camera.

All that is needed is maybe 1 picture every 10-15-30 seconds, no sound or anything and it would be best if it could be uploaded to an external source though not required.

No need for motion detection or anything like that. Simple and free software is best.

Any good ideas much appriciated. 🙂
 
useless.
the crook will just tape the camera. or close the lid from behind.
get a spy cam. super small, easily hidden. use it for your purpose and so many more occasions in the future.
