laptop and network problems

right i had a laptop connected with a normal cat5 patch lead 1.5 meter length, moved the laptop into another room had to make new lead for it and its about 30 - 35 foot long ...

according to the win2k laptop its showning as running at 100mps as it should.

PROBLEM

its sooooo bleeding slow on the network . pings return ok and no packet loss, its dhcp assigned.

and when i mean slow i mean slowwwwwwww so much so the boss keeps running up the stairs to see if the stuff he is working on is having trouble making it up the stairs lol

anyone got any ideas????
